Almost the End

I could not believe that the last time I wrote a blog post was nearly two years ago. Strictly saying it was just for two days. LOL.

Life is totally different from two years ago. Finally, I am about to finish five-and-a-half years study! Honestly, I could not help but wonder if I really chosen the right path. It seems like I am forced to face my weaknesses. I was never good with children. In fact, when in room full of children, my first instinct was to leave as soon as possible. Not fancy interacting with them let alone teaching them. It is a miracle that I am now at the last phase of practicum. Not going to say that I am already expert, but at least I am better than I was.

Phase one practicum: Sleep for only 2-3 hours everyday for a month. Felt like I was about to die.

Phase two practicum: Went to sleep at 9pm everyday. It was the happiest two months of my life!

As much as I am excited to end this journey, I have to say that I have a mixed feelings counting down days to say goodbye to these people. We see each other grow through all these years. It certainly not easy to say goodbye to the people you meet almost on daily basis, day and night, for the last five years. I will cherish all the '废事' we do together and the '废话' we talk together. It is the end of this journey but the beginning of another journey.

Newborn Portraits: Little Niece

I am still not sure what kind of photography suits me, so I try everything. I did an impromptu portraits of my little niece. Now I know that newborn photography is not my thing.

It was a budget set-up, one big pillow for baby to sleep on and a white towel as a backdrop.

Random Illustrations

I did some illustrations a while ago, I was too busy with school works to continue doing it and lazy was one of the big reasons too.

It is not a secret that I am a Potterhead. I re-read the series and re-watch the movies many times. Here are my favourite charm and potion from the series:

"This ancient and mysterious charm conjures a magical guardian, a projection of all your most positive feelings. The Patronus Charm is difficult, and many witches and wizards are unable to produce a full, corporeal Patronus, a guardian which generally takes the shape of the animal with whom they share the deepest affinity. You may suspect, but you will never truly know what form your Patronus will take until you succeed in conjuring it." - Miranda Goshawk

How good it is if I could have one sip of liquid luck.

Other than being a Potterhead, I am a Pokemon fan too. Not exactly a big fan, but I really like the game. I only started to play the game when I was 18 years old (kinda too old eh?) and my first ever completed Pokemon games was the HeartGold version. I like the game but I am not fond of the TV Series, I cringe every time Ash makes a stupid decision and completely stop watching it. After all this time, we all know that he is not gonna catch 'em all. Definitely a member of Team Red here!

This is my favourite Pokemon. It looks really elegant to me. Oh, tell me who can resist that soft-flowy mane!

I pick up the game pretty late and the franchise already into generation 5 when I started playing it. Both Black and White and Black and White 2 in my opinion have awesome storyline and gameplay and also Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem look badass cool. What I do not like is that the game has some weird Pokemon. Seriously, a gear pokemon? Ice Cream, lamp and that creepy kissing thing with helmet? Pokemon designer, do you even try?

I am a Hunger Games fan too! The first book is great but it started getting boring after that....

I like to find inspirations from songs. This one, I got it from Secrets by OneRepublic.

First Portrait Session

I am no professional, I just enjoy taking photos especially photos of people. This is my very first portrait session and I can honestly say, I suck at it. There were few awkward moments where we were deciding on poses. Nevertheless, I am thankful that these two beautiful ladies willing to help me and cooperate with me.

They were my schoolmates, we had not seen each other for a while. When we decided to meet up and catch up, I asked them if they are willing to be my models (more accurately, my white mouses. hehehe!), I am thrilled that they gladly agreed. Since neither of us in front nor behind the camera is professionals, so we just go with the flow and did what we think were right. We did not even have a reflector, we found a car sun shade that reflects light and we used it as reflector. We might looked stupid running around taking photos with a sun shade as a reflector. Nah, we did not care that much. If it is working, it is not stupid.

Behind the scenes of the photoshoot was quite a chaos. The models were taking turn holding the fake-reflector when I was taking photos of one of them. When two of them were in the scene, I had to tackle the camera and the fake-reflector alone. One hand holding the reflector while the other holding the camera, it is a miracle that the photos came out sharp. It was a remarkable experience for a beginner like me.

This lovely girl right here, she is a violin teacher. I thought it will be nice if I could take photos of her with her violin and while she is playing violin.

We found this location while we were roaming around, at first we were like 'What if there are snakes there?' and then 'If there's snake we'll just run for our lives.' Thank God there was no snake welcoming us! It has bunch of trees and grasses, it is a great location for outdoor portrait. I never knew this place exists in Seremban.

They were singing this song called 'Malaysia Chabor' that goes viral in Malaysia (or maybe even outside Malaysia). I personally never heard the song (I am so outdated), but it seems like a happy song.

These were taken at a public park, we were in middle of the bridge blocking other people's way. Guilty! I was hoping I could capture nice flares, but as you could see, I failed miserably.

Pei Wen and Jia Wen, thank you so much for being my models. Much love!
